Borehole Logging

Detailed recording of every formation penetrated, from collar to termination depth.

A borehole is only as useful as its log. Every run is measured for recovery and RQD, described for lithology, weathering and joint condition, then photographed and boxed so the record survives long after the rig has left site.

Downhole camera work supplements the physical core where recovery is poor — often exactly where the ground is most interesting.

What this covers

  • Geological core logging
  • RQD and core recovery calculation
  • Downhole camera and optical logging
  • Water level and loss records
  • Core photography, boxing and storage
