In-situ and Laboratory Testing

Field and laboratory determination of soil and rock properties, including permeability and groutability.

In-situ testing measures ground behaviour where it sits, before sampling disturbs it. Permeability and packer tests give the water take that drives grouting design; hydro-fracture testing establishes the pressure at which the rock mass opens.

Laboratory work runs in parallel — classification, density, shear strength and rock strength indices — so the design team gets a complete parameter set rather than field data alone.
